With their state-of-the-art game accessories, Nyko should have been dominating the competition. Instead, they found themselves getting lost in the noise of the category, at risk of losing shelf space with key retailers.
CBA helped the brand understand a key insight: a large percentage of consumers were moms, buying for their families. To help the brand assert itself, Nyko needed to simplify its communication and showcase the brand and products in a premium way, increasing mom's confidence in her choice.
Based on this insight, CBA revitalized the Nyko brand with simplicity and maximum impact. Product design was front and center with bold photography, while we simplified key messages and created consistent iconography to show what was in the box. Lastly, color coding linked accessories to their gaming platforms to reduce confusion. All this while replacing many plastic package components with paperboard, and maximizing packaging efficiencies for better merchandising and a greener final product.
